This Week’s Valvoline/Seubert Calf Ranches Ford … Josh Richards will pilot chassis No. 23 at Portsmouth Raceway Park. This No. 1 Rocket machine is a new addition to the Mark Richards Racing stable and will make its first laps this weekend.
DTWC Stats … Richards has five top-10 finishes in seven-career DTWC starts across multiple racing venues. His best start of third came in both 2007 and 2011 and his best finish of second came in 2007 where the West Virginia native led 66 laps before getting stuck in lapped traffic.

Teammates … Richards will have a teammate this weekend at Portsmouth as Brandon Sheppard will drive a second house car for Mark Richards Racing in hopes of defending his title from the 2013 DTWC.
Race Rewind … Richards’ last appearance at the DTWC was in 2012 where he started seventh en route to a fourth-place finish at Portsmouth Raceway Park.
There’s A First Time For Everything … In 2003, Richards made his first dirt late model start in The Future Dirt Track World Championship, a junior event for teenage racers during the Dirt Track World Championship weekend at Kentucky’s Bluegrass Speedway.
